From Bro. Jeff:
I hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe and warm. If that isn’t the case please reply to this message or contact me and we will get help to you.
I’m writing because after considering several factors I have decided to cancel services tomorrow (2/22/15). I made this call after consulting with a number of members as well as our current chairman of deacons and believe it puts our members and guests in the safest position, particularly after reading the latest National Weather Service Alert for our area. However, the decision was made with great reluctance and regret. I will miss worshiping with our church family on tomorrow’s Lord’s Day.
This decision will have ramifications for other events. First, the college luncheon scheduled for tomorrow afternoon won’t take place this week. Bro. Jonathan will be in contact regarding rescheduling or the next lunch date at a later point. Second, our scheduled Member’s Meeting will be rolled over until next week (following our study of Biblical Eldership at 6:00pm) on Sunday (3/1/15). Third, we expect to hold our regularly scheduled Wed. evening service this week (2/25/14). Finally, the CROSS simulcast Friday night will not be affected (based on current weather forecasts).
Before closing please let me encourage you to spend time in worship tomorrow as, regardless of our circumstances, it is eternally good news that Christ has come, suffered, and on the third day risen from the dead so that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all nations. I love particularly Paul’s closing from 2nd Corinthians so I’ll use it to close this note: The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
